Mock the Weary
Letting you go,
One of the hardest things.
I know now,
this feeling
To have loved and to have lost
My heart reached out,
Slipped from behind its guard
Only to be trampled upon.
I am back to before
Yet somehow not,
Now I am different
Now I have changed.
Knowledge lies hidden beyond mine eyes.
At the moment,
The future seems far away,
The past follows my steps
And the present,
The present mocks me.
It leaves me to wonder why?
Why did I trust you?
Why did I let my wall down?
I’ll know better next time, Ill be ready.
Ready for the heartache
It is sure to come,
The uncanny innocence
The undisturbed rose.
One red petal drifts to the ground
But still it pushes on
It’s not the end
Not yet.

Trusting and letting the wall down, giving a heart is not a fall. But a bravery to give...a divinity to love and care to all...Love your poems... Cate
