Momentary Night Poem by J Patrick Murphy

Momentary Night

Beneath the scorching rays of sun,
Lies land once diffused with splendid bloom.
But now it lies in ravaged gloom;
It's regal days seem all but done.

While once imbued with glorious green,
This land is now engulfed in only gray.
All trace of life has run away
From this place once fit for queens.

But winter's gloom: just transient rest;
It's nature's momentary night.
For when immersed in vernal light,
With noble robes, this land will dress.

For under reviving rays of gold,
Each vivid hue will freely flow.
And stretching up to Deity's glow,
The palatial blooms will this place enfold.

When dismal days this life does bring.
And when all hopes and dreams seem bleak.
Worry not! For it's winter's peak,
And it is not too long 'til spring.
