Money And Love Poem by Francis Duggan

Money And Love

To get by in life money most people need
Though those without love are poor people indeed
But the love of a mother for her daughter and son
Transcends all other loves when all is said and done
The bond of love may be strong between a man and his wife
But many such loves they do not last for life
And money can buy a man a young woman as we all well know
But on money the gift of love never does grow
Money can buy you a new car a new house and a big swimming pool
Where on warm Summer days you and your family can swim to keep cool
But money cannot buy you love though you may think it can
And that goes for every woman and for every man
Money and love are different as different as can be
At least anyway that's how it seems to me.
