Moon Musings Poem by Maureen Pickford

Moon Musings

There's a big fat moon
Out on high tonight.
Lying on the bed
I'm bathed in its light.
I can feel the pull
Of its gravity
My pie in the sky
For eternity.

Now tree patterns dance
On my bedroom wall.
The shadows cast by
My fine yellow ball.
A wind arises
I hear branches creak.
A cloud dodging moon
Game of hide and seek.

Dispelling the dark night
O'er earth the moon shines.
It belongs to us
It's yours and mine.
Go back there spacemen
Unlock more mystery
Spend a day out at
The Sea of Tranquility!
