Moonshine Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Moonshine

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever seen the moon in someones eyes?
I have.
I see her eyes sparkle with so much potential.
She is beauty,
she is love,
she is mine.
How does she make my heart race?
Buried so deep in my sadness,
she still touches my life.
She could distract me a thousand times from a bottle.
She could bring my world to a smile.
To care so much for someone,
wouldn’t you be scared?
I am.
I am scared to love, and worried to feel.
But with Tahylour-Dawn,
my worries melt to a morning dew.
She is truth,
and she is real.
If I were ever so lucky,
this would be the moment.
To hold her in my arms,
on a quiet evening,
with her head on my chest….
What a dream.
What dreams can I give you dear?
What hope can I inspire?
If I could make you smile,
then I’d be satisfied.
