More Than Friends Poem by James Royster

More Than Friends

Do I adore you, or are you just a friend?
I know that I care for you, but do I want u secretly deep within?

Sometimes I wonder if this is all our relationship is meant to be.
I want to protect like I am your brother,
You are like family to me.
And yet, I want to love you like no other.
When I am with you I am truly free.

My heart is torn between our friendship and my love.
It is like choosing between the gentle lamb and the majestic dove.

I know I give you simple gifts, but I want to give you my all.

I give you things that only money can buy.
Let me make you happy, and give you a chance to touch the sky.

You were there through the rain and even the sunshine.
You were my smile when I thought it was gone.
You were my strength when I felt I couldn't go on.

In you all my secrets I confide.
The feeling I have for you I don't want to hide.

I guess for now things will remain the same.
But in the end,
May be I will be more than a friend.
