Morning Glories Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Morning Glories

The warmth and rain of May
invigorates and awakens
randomly scattered seeds

Making themselves known…
Sprouting and appearing
with heart shaped leaves

Intentions to propagate
present an uncertified
claim to the entire garden

Determined to excitedly
climb to great heights
with compulsive clinging vines

The beauty of your blossoms
become unwelcome...
Your wandering is obtrusive

Ignoring the arrangement
of the gardener's structured
plans to organize and groom

Your out of place locations
deem you to be as unwelcome
as a strangling wicked weed

Only allowed to remain near
the trellis where your intended
pleasures beam at the break of day
