Morning Prayer Poem by Moto Wamwanga

  

         

 

My Lord, words are not

Enough to thank you for

The miracles you accomplish

In our lives. I was dead when

 

I slept, as I was not any more

Aware of anything at all. Lot

Of things, which could vanish

Me, happened, lots sudden

 

Battles occurred. Many people

Could obviously not wake

Up, could not even shake

Their arms, It is not simple.

 

Lots of people woke up in hospital,

Some of them woke up in prison

And many of them woke up in tears.

So why should I, God, be ungrateful

And wicked, as I am always wrong,   

 

When I woke up safely free, strong?

I didn't wake up, because I'm powerful.

I didn't wake up, because I'm special,

Or because the wicked Devil fears

Me, neither am I perfect, having reason

 

But the truth is, I woke up because

Of You, Your power, Your grace,

Your love; because you chose

Me. Thank you for the special place

 

You have given me. Thank you, Lord,

For the free breath of life, for enabling

Me to safely see this new, lovely day.

Let Your greatest name be glorified.

 

Let Your name be adored, Your word

Be obeyed, God. I leave my straggling

Moments to You to be purified.

Keep us, Almighty God, safely away

 

Of enemies' traps, accidents and

Devil's battles, plan and game.

Empower us all, Lord, to firmly stand

And lift Your untouchable name

 

So the whole planet would believe

That You're the only and unique God,

The One every day I pray and to live

Safely longer, as You're good,

 

We must be in strong relationship  

With You. We need to worship

Your name and be grateful

For anything that we face, thankful.
