Morning Rehearsal Of The Rich Poem by Deci Hernandez

Morning Rehearsal Of The Rich

When do you get paid?
Eventually eventually
Will it be today or tomorrow?
Nay, my dear, eventually

What will be the amount
That i may know if
The pay is worth the wait?

The pay is sufficient

Is it a house on a lake?
No, my dear, but sufficient

Nay, if i be your wife
How does the drunk of wine
Have more to gain?

What profit are you to me?
i turn and toil and add names
To your name
Have you altogether cursed me?
Am i to you
Anything but shame?

Nay, my love
You are to me more than
Ten thousand sons
You are to me more than
My only one
You are to me my jewel
My payment paid in full

Let eventually wait
Let sufficient be my faith
Dear husband,
Dearly i will be with you
Forever and what ever kind'a'day
For truly we are
Lovingly honestly and
Assuringly each other's pay
