Mosaic Poem by Shirley Houston

Mosaic

Travail has left her mark/
I bear the scars/
& weight of martyred/
innocence/
dissonance/
fragmenting synthesis/
fragmented pieces set adrift/
in an abyss/
of discord & helplessness/
where loneliness consumes/
& the world presumes/
to understand my sullen countenance/
monotonous/
assessments/
of a broken-heart's facade/
petard resistant/
insecure & distant/
wonder/
taken in the wooded place/
where monsters spilled their seminal acid/
sandblasted/
presumptive images/
carcinogens/
onto my psyche/
inside of me/
demonic lusts/
violated/
subjugated/
attempted to annihilate/
what has come to be/
tranquility/
a mosaic of tragedy/
& triumphet audacity/
Beauty's soliloquy/
my sprit's free/
by His decree/
Travail has left her mark/
I bear the scars/
& weight of martyred/
innocence/
victim?
No!
her antithesis/
speaking life/
from the enclave of/
redemption....
