Mother Earth Poem by Mellisa Salazar

Mother Earth

Rating: 5.0

It's the simple things in life
That give us what we need
The grace of a dancing butterfly that
Lands gently on your knee
The kiss of the morning sunrise
To assure you that you're the best
And the breast of a grassy hill
To give you a place to rest
The world is your mother
And you're bouncing on her knee
As every single birds melody is a lullaby to put you to sleep
every bit of nurturing that you thought that you might need
Is because you didn't know the earths a womb and you're a seed
Growing tall inside her valleys
And deep beneath the sea
The pain of what you never knew
Is the same thing you will breed
Unless you fill your heart will love
And become what you've always wanted to see
