Mother Nature Poem by Brendan Duffy

Mother Nature

Rating: 5.0

The dew in the air
Mother Earths tears settle
Her breath whistling soft with care
She lies in the grass by the cliff
Time is not of importance now

Dreaming of a time once held close
Tightly to her beating heart
Becomes the memory of a ghost
Wars waged and victories celebrated
At the cost of land or religion

Life is but a journey
Those who have failed theirs
Are left with a constant burning
Of the hopes and dreams they once had
As child, woman or man

Take heed for our future now
For our children are the ones who will pay
Our mistakes will be their burden
Sins of the fathers and mothers too
Should not fall on the shoulders not fit to carry

Take care and sleep well
Tomorrow we get the chance to start over
Close the chapter of our lost battles tonight
Make new of the day ahead of us
Save our world and make it bright
