Mother Nature Poem by Beth White

Mother Nature

Have you heard the sweet sensational sound of a humming bird?
Their long eagle like wings gently flapping in the breeze
With their long beak pointing tall and proud,
They sip the honey like nectar

Have you heard the proud call of a prestigious lion?
Shoulders broad and its mighty main flowing in the wind
Concentrating, contemplating on attacking me soon
He pounces from the bush
His eyes fixed on me

Have you seen the passionate display of a peacock?
Its feathers glimmering in the light
It warns its opposing males

Mother nature controls all of this
And it's disappearing fast
I may be only 13
But I want nature to last...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this because I was challenged to write a poem without rhyming by my teacher so this is my first attempt. Hope you like it please comment on how i can improve it! ! I know its not great by if you've read some of my other work you will know I can do better as I wrote this in the car on the way to brass band whilst listening to music. And I know my last 3lines rhyme but I couldnt think of how to finish it and it works better that way.
