Mother Of Sorrows Poem by Marc Jude Fernandes

Mother Of Sorrows

Mother of sorrows take me in your arms
Keep me safe away from all unwanted charms
I have rejected the world in all its vanity
I have entered the abode of Mother Melancholy

For long I have been betrothed to sweet pain
She triggers a certain bliss in my brain
Divorced from this world it's her I cherish
To remain in solitude is my only wish

My soul is ill today and I don't know why
I long for tears to fall but I can't cry
I don't want to live anymore but I don't want to die
Tomorrow will not be the same, I just hope and sigh

How can I deny the tears I have cried
I'm dressed as a bridegroom but where is my bride?
All these years I wait in agony
But hope is rekindled by melancholy
