Mother's Heart Poem by Jason Bartley

Mother's Heart

I conceived you into my arms,
You bring me such joy,
I would not trade you
for another girl or another boy.
God gave you to me.
Though we have not
always seen eye to eye,
I always worked hard
to give you the best,
sometimes even when
I did not have it,
working without rest.
I made a way for you.
I've always put you first.
You'll always be in my arms,
and in my heart, …
my child,
Know you're in my cares.
God be with you.
Wherever you go,
my child,
always in my prayers.
