Mountain Meditation Poem by connie crane

Mountain Meditation

The face of the mountain
Peeks at me,
Through the clouds.
In my mind,
I climb the mountain’s peak,
And sit atop its face.
The mountain that looms,
Larger than life above me,
Is somehow my friend,
My inspiration,
A source of life.
Its presence gives me peace,
A release, from chaos and strife.
When I gaze upon it,
I find my conscious mind,
Transported to a place,
Of quiet contemplation.
Others look within,
I look to the mountain,
For my meditation.
The mountain and I are both,
A part of all that is.
We face each other,
My small face a speck
On that big face of his.
But behind the small face of mine,
Is a spirit endless as time.
When I look at the mountain I see,
The magnificent grandeur that is me.
The awesome face of God,
Reveals what I suspect,
That I am one with God,
His face, my soul reflects.
