Mountains And Fog, Living A New Life Poem by Moth Harris

Mountains And Fog, Living A New Life

As I look here over this mountain I've overcome.
I turn around and look down at the cliff before me.
A grey world that was painted by an impulse.
A dead world that was destroyed by you.

Oh, but promises and dreams, and goals, and things.
I guess they all mean nothing to someone like you.
All of the things I meant, compared to your meaningless replies.
Why is it that the good heart is the one that dies?

I look foreward but the fog downlhill scares me.
Will it reveal a steeper cliff, a new mountain to climb.
Or will it be Crystal clear, I guess we'll tell in time.
When will it be my time to shine?

Oh, they tell me things, and that damn lie of a ring.
It symbolized what should have been, until you died.
It was hope of what could've been, but you lied.
Just remember, I was the one you loved.

I think somewhere along the way, thoughtless thoughts you start to say
and the lies became the truth in your mind,
and a loveless vision was all you could find
When your eyes rested on mine.
