Moving Forward Poem by Sasha Claire Beckains

i never thought it'd come to this,
but i guess i was mistaken.
now i know for sure the truth,
and im looking right ahead.
i know your still there somewhere,
but im trying to go on like i never
knew you.
i will never be the same without you,
but i know it's for the best.
so i say to you farewell, as we both
go our separate ways without
regrets.
i'll ache for awhile, but you don't
have to worry.
you have your own problems now,
and im not a part of you anymore.
im on the path of love alone,
trying to find someone new.
not looking back at the past, even
to rememebr your face.
And you know what they say...
'sometimes you have smile, pretend
everything's ok, hold back the tears,
and just walk away.'
