Moving On Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Moving On

The bumpy road we traveled down
had reached a fork where dreams would split.
My fading smile produced a frown
as gloom arose from havoc's pit.

The right displayed a brighter path
illuming His eternal plan.
The left would lead us into wrath
where sin consumes the souls of man.

The choice was difficult to make;
enticed by life's seducing hand.
The evil path, my mate would take
no longer heeding my command.

Temptation's call would overthrow
the force which forged and joined our hearts.
Alone, I'm left with seeds to grow
and wond'ring why true love departs.

With courage I will carry on
while wiping tears from bitter eyes.
Renewing strength begins at dawn;
my reformed love will be the prize.
