Museum Of Science And Industry Storm Exhibit Poem by Onyi Ogwumike

Museum Of Science And Industry Storm Exhibit

Feet planted on this floor
Staring up in awe as my own heart
Materialized in the glass tube.
Swirling pearls of light and power,
Beads of truth and might.
The sands of time unsettled,
Bumping into the atoms of air
That flew freely around them.
Focused on their own wrath in
A never-ending spiral of
Insatiable energy.
Energy flows unhindered,
Self-sustained.
Unshackling the chains on my brain,
As my thoughts take flight.
Wings outstretched, polished ebony.
They join the chaotic jumble of life,
That burns incandescently singing my eyes.
