Music Is... Poem by Ilse Wissner

Music is the most harmonious voice in creation;
Let us use it for the glory of God in meditation.
It is poetry without words and rhymes
That lets my emotions write the lines.
With beautiful and disarming melody,
It can move and affect all of me
And give me tears to wash away my gloom
Like a spring rain that rinses dust off bloom.
Music can impart so many hints
With artistic and subtle eloquence.
Its tranquil voice can calm the savage beast
And make fury for the moment cease.
Music gives my soul the wings to soar
Back in time or to the place I yearn to go.
