Musings At The Headland: (Hartlepool, September 22nd,2021)

Rating: 5.0

Curious white birds
Are hovering on the wind
Like angels. The sea
Is calm today, and brimming,
With its usual
Blue-green mysteries. As I
Walk along the shore
I am struck by a silence
That seems to extend
Beyond this parochial
Time and place. I glimpse
A light on the horizon
Which to me suggests
That, despite current troubles
All will be well in
The end, because in essence,
All is really one.
Life's fragments are temporal,
Like the scuffed reds and
Pinks of these pebbles, and the
Vast strands of seaweed,
That are scattered before me.
