Musings On Life And Love Poem by Subhojit Kar

Musings On Life And Love

Life is a glass of champagne
Sip it and sip it slow,
For in one gulp
If your solitary glass you drain
There will be only emptiness to show
And no-one will fill your glass again.

Love is a rocky waterfall
Flowing since the first light of dawn
And it'll keep flowing on and on
Into the turbulent stream of eternity;

But beware!
If you don't know how to swim,
Don't even go near the fast-flowing stream,
'Cos if your head isn't crushed
By the rocky boulders
Your heart will surely be chocked
By the swirling waters.

And dash it! even if you know how to swim
And do it better than they show in films
Still you can't swim forever
Without losing sync with your partner
You see in the Olympiad of Life
It's the most difficult event
Of Synchronized Swimming,
Far removed from fiction and dreaming.

So, at the end, you may exit, cold and tired,
Leaving seeds of your winless endeavors
Blazing sodden crushed spirit trails
For many, many others to follow- -
Ten losers seduced by the rosiness
And lost in the maze
For every winner taking in all the spoils
