Mutual Love Poem by Briana Johnson

Mutual Love

Why do we blindly wait for love
when it does not seek us out?
Are we blinder than the one
who can not see?
I know we are
But I don't know
How come every guy I find
the courage to love....leaves
And right at my most vulnerable
Maybe love is parasitic
Waiting for that perfect host to tear down
Leaving you again
Miserable again
Unloved again
Or am I the only one that can see
You have to look
You have to give
Love is mutual people!
Open your eyes
The perfect person isn't a prize you just find on the street
Its the prize you work for
The only way to find it is if you can give as much as you get
But I'm still blind
Yes I'm still blind
I'd love to think its that easy
I'd love that more than love itself
But its all mutual....
