My Brother Taught Me Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Brother Taught Me

Rating: 5.0

He taught me how to run, oh yes
From the time that I could walk
And other plans he had for me
Just as soon as I could talk.

Tinker Toys, and many cars too
We played out in the dirt
Some games were dangerous
Once in a while I got hurt.

But all and all, once I could crawl
His life was not the same
At three he did take care of me
His little sister I'd remain.

My dolls were added to the mix
But still it was his way
I never cared, I never cried
Well, not too much I'll say.

But one day God took him
So hard, I miss him so
So much my brother taught me
I thought you would want to know.

This is next in the sequence of the earlier poem 'My Brother's Love'. It's lovely to recall those days when you were guided and helped by your brother at every step. Thanks.

Thank you, Rajinish, so much. I have other poems about him when he got sick, went into a coma and died. It was not good the way it ended. A Lost Mind; My Brother Has Cancer; and My Brother's Gone are other poems I wrote for him or about him. I do so appreciate your nice comments.

But one day God took him So hard, I miss him so So much my brother taught me I thought you would want to know. Felt sad about the tragic touch so well described. I loved the way you write. Thanks. 10++++
