My Child Poem by Taher Shemaly

My Child

By the night and its glory
by the moon and its light
By the stars and their story
by this blessed to be one night

Close the sweet eyes calmly
O my child dressed in the white
Know firmly that you are not lonely
but under the mercy of God's sight

Laugh and laugh, and smile
with this sweet mouth of innocence
Away and away for a while
away from agony and out of sense

And this heart made by the tile
from your hand filled with happinness
No worries, no cries but a smile
if only, I can find a child like this
