My Confession Poem by GGs Girl

My Confession

It will always matter,
Regardless what you say,
I guess it's just the ladder,
The ladder of life,
We would never work,
That's what they tried to tell me,
But I didn't listen,
And went ahead giving my heart away,
I'm sorry it didn't work out,
I just don't understand where it went wrong,
I know I'm young,
But so are you,
In more ways than one,
You know it's true,
It's all over now, I'm sorry to say,
I continue to dream, dad by day,
I cry,
But that never helps,
I try,
To forget you,
I just don't think I can,
It lasted too long,
Our bond was strong,
I took a chance,
It's all my mistake,
I had the wrong impression,
I put a lot of things at stake,
So this poem is my confession,
There was a misunderstanding,
I thought we were on the same page,
And so I'm left standing,
Alone in the rain,
It shouldn't matter,
I thought I belonged,
Don't you worry about me,
I am still strong,
I knew I could feel you slipping,
Slipping away,
By the tips of my fingers I was gripping,
Begging and pleading with you to stay,
I am here now,
While you move on,
With someone else,
I guess that's okay,
But it's not so easy for me,
You see,
I will heal with some time,
Only it will leave a scar,
So I continue to rhyme,
But to no avail,
I cannot forget you,
It's the end of the fairytale,
And the scar stays,
While the tether from my heart to you frays,
Even after all we've been through,
I'm sorry, so very sorry,
But I still love you.
