My Dearest Dear Poem by winifred thorpe

My Dearest Dear

My dearest dear, My heart beat's faster at your tender touch,
Your smile, Is like the sun upon the shore,
Open and true, it makes me love you more,
O! my dear, don't let the sands of time,
Dim our precious love.

let it stay bright as star's above,
As well you know I would never let you go,
Thorough time and space, love has ruled the world,
You cannot stop this tender feeling so unfurled.

This trip,
that holds us in its grip,
t5hat we are close we let our feeling's slip,
And sway from side to side, just like a sailing ship.

My love, remember me when I was young,
When our first kiss was like a lovebirds song,
You held me in your arms,
Thought I was shy, and lay me down beside you,
Mt face up to the sky,
now I am old: I still can feel the thrill,
When we walk hand in hand among the hills,
When god takes you, let him take me too,
because my heart is yours my life is thought.
