My Dearest Friend Poem by Elias Isaksson

My Dearest Friend

Rating: 3.0

He was my best friend
An only true companion
Righteously the only one that could turn my dark skies blue
A friendly giant respected by all
Maybe the only friend I will ever have
But on that day, that fateful day
Even three days after my birthday on the 28th of may
He was gone, disappeared forever,
My once loyal heart turned to clay
They took him from me and he had been slain.
His powerful hands could grab no more
His life cut short by the pull of the trigger
He left this world without a clue
Because my friend lived at the Cincinnati zoo
