My Dearest One Poem by Hazel Durham

My Dearest One

Rating: 4.9

I listen to the breeze rustling the scattered autumn leaves,
I see the dappled clouds as they weave,
A pattern across the sulking skies,
I hear the birds sing and chatter without any lies,
I listen to the emotional upheaval of the waves as they sigh,
I climb the highest mountain to feel my inner strength,
I see the truth in the distance on any clear day,
I travel down many different roads,
Gathering pieces of joy, sadness and fear along the way,
As dark forces try to extinguish my inner light,
Into a moonless and starless night,
As I struggle again to see the sun's might,
Love is holding hands as our hearts merge,
Like blades of grass on a straight verge,
Nothing is as it seems,
As a straight road surprises me with an unexpected bend,
A winding road gives me a new twist of direction,
As I wander along my path of destiny with some affection,
I listen, see and talk about the beauty of nature,
And the mystery of peoples character is under my inspection,
As I grasp the sometimes warm hand of life with expectation,
I listen to our hearts sing with desire and sensation,
As the whispering wind asks me to feel the warmth of the sun
And the joy of being with you,
My dearest one.

A lovely romantic poem well penned to capture the bliss of love in a mutual loving relationship. Nicely articulated and written in poetic diction. A beautiful poem indeed. Thanks for sharing and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
