My Demon Poem by Mary Roach

My Demon

I laugh in the face of the tormenter
He smiles knowing he causes me pain
I fall to the floor and pray

He threatens while shaking his fist
Everyone quivers in fear
I laugh in the face of the tormenter

His eyes turn a dark crimson red
His stare burns me to the core
He smiles knowing he causes me pain

My laugh no longer escapes me
My tears are falling like streams
I fall to the floor and pray
