My Depths Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

My Depths

Rating: 5.0

Plumb my depths.
Investigate me.
Look for things that others see
With blind eyes.

Other women may be pretty.
Girls may be easy to please.
Older women may be intoxicating
While I hold no such obvious attractions.

I am a puzzle box.
I am a maze.
I am an encryption.
I have a gate.

I guard my heart
As others guard their gold
With a dragon
And a riddle
And a magic ring.

But if you sing to me
In just the right key
You may put my dragon to sleep
And awaken in me
A love that will initiate you
Into the mystery
Of your own soul.
