My Friend Poem by Gary Excell

My Friend

Remember when we kicked our way, Through Autumns golden gown,
Those brightly coloured leaves lay by, Upon the mossy ground,
Fragrances of autumn’s mist, Dampness fill the air,
Running through this lush green land, Without a single care,
Sunshine sparkles high above, The forest trees so high,
Hear the birds, echo their song, High up in the sky,
Running far across this land, You and me go by,
Happiness has filled our hearts, We’ve never been so high,
We’ve grown so much older now, The memories all but gone,
But you and me will feel the same, Nothing could go wrong,
Our love still stands above all else, No one can us part,
An entwined king of happiness, A loving king of art,
Your be with me for ever more, Until the very end,
Even though we've grown so apart, You’re always be my friend.
