My Funeral Poem by Jason Sailor

My Funeral

earth all around
rain seeps into the ground

tears blend with rain
nothing to say
overcome by the pain
and morose of today

she walks up
lays the rose on top
trying to act grown up
not wanting to stop

he stands up front
book in hand
starts with a grunt
and the crowd disbands

years gone by
corroding in the masses
go on with their lives
time just passes

lying in vain
the sadness is gone
only remaining
is rain
soaking the lawn
seeping down in the brush
through the mud and slush

only alive in thoughts
neither body nor mind
like a broken robot
a fixing would be kind
