My Greatest Failure Poem by Joey Cargill

My Greatest Failure

This is the story of how I failed
left alone a child whose parents bailed
for it was my time and duty to call
but left my wife with the child to brawl
no bond no mending no second chance
no hope for forgiveness for those who wish to dance
for the male bonding was the only bond
and the hatred for the wife was ever more strong
there was no forgiveness no second chance
only wrong in this life and no willing to dance
I cannot look pass these crying eyes
no family thrives if one despise
I'm sorry I failed you and you feel alone
I pray time will heel your broken sole
I'll always be with you to fight the fight
But I will not take your side of wrong over right
For your actions will define your broken heart
And one day I hope you wake up to life's new start
And in this day you will find a new end
And happiness in life will soon begin
Know that I love you and will never forget
The bond we made in life's regret
Time is the only truth to hold
Forgiveness is the hardest pain in the sole
If in this day you choose to begin again
I will always be there for you my daughter my friend
