My Heart Poem by James Royster

Empty, lonely, cold, and dark,
This is what it's like on the inside of my heart.

There have been times when a light once shone,
but that was the past, now the light is gone

I long to feel the warmth one more time.
I wish to find someone who will once again
make my heart shine.

Now I choose to give my heart to you.
Take away this darkness, do what you must do

When I cried it was you who wiped away my tears.
When I was afraid you abolished all my fears

When I was worried you told me it was ok.
When I went to sleep you let me see another day.

Some ask me am I in love?
I tell them yes. I love my King, my Lord
my Savior above.
