My Heart Poem by Olive Villarama

My Heart

I’m always trying not to think of you
I’m still missing you
But my mind knows the only right thing to do
I don’t want to let go
But that right thing is to quit
This kind of love has a limit
Taking a step away
Away means I’m gone forever
Yet, you are holding my heart
In your arms, I’ll leave it behind
There is my tear on every path
I’m falling apart
My hands, my feet and all of me
All broken, more than a precious jewelry
Don’t collect the pieces
Just let me in the emptiness
Until I’m gone and nowhere to be found
But my heart,
You are holding it tight
Memories don’t change,
Just fading, forgotten, thrown away
And wait again for someone to remember
Then one day you will ask,
“Whose heart am I holding? ”
