My Heart And I Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

My Heart And I

Listening to songs of spring
My heart and I joined in to sing the melody.
Pianissimo, my dear, whispered mother nature
No need to sing at top volume above the sound
Of humming birds and buzzing bees, so
Once again, pianissimo please.
The daffodils sang, their trumpet blaring,
Cardinals sang in colorful musical flight,
Crows and robins sang with all their might
Their musical tones, enchanting to the ear
My heart and I raised our voices with flair.
Blooming cherry trees sang a little off key
And towering pines joined in with glee,
Their voices booming, echoing high in the sky,
The oak and spruce sang in sweet harmony
To make even the angels sigh.
New green grasses whistled in their lowest key,
My heart and I sang each song happily with zest,
Pianissimo at Mother Nature's request!

Spring is king of seasons and spring's melody pleases us frequently. Listening to songs of spring we feel eternal tune of God. Humming birds and buzzing bees sing more and more. No need to large volumes. We need to perceive nature's grace. Blooming cherry tree sings and sky sings to dance in far galaxy. Mother Nature's request we hear to keep human values and trust to beloved God. A great imagery is drawn in this poem. This is an outstanding poem that brings alive scene before a reader....10
