My Heart Song Poem by samantha hale

My Heart Song

Rating: 5.0

When will someone come along,
And listen to my heart song?
The moon is crying all alone tonight,
As she tries to revive her sun that died.
I am the moon, left all alone,
A shadow in a room, a name unknown.

So many people left me in the rain,
My heart, they realized could not be tamed.
Your absence brutally left me, as I decided to fight or flee;
Like heavens wrath, how they tore lost angels wings.
This song I wrote for you, will not turn out like me,
Abandoned and unheard, left to die in a restless sleep.

They all played with unstable fire,
Typical of a drunk, lovesick choir.
Drowning this flame, they lost what they had,
We were not as I dreamed: rivals, no longer comrades.
Hoping that you are not as you seem,
That we were meant to be an inseparable team.

I have a journal with rough drafts, full of unspoken words,
So I'm begging you to stay, to not leave this song unheard.
The drums of your heart beat along to my tune,
A melody I slave for, I am not immune.
Our music is meant to show and shine,
I hope you keep replaying it in time.
Our music is meant to show and shine,
I hope you keep replaying in time.
