My Lost Innocence Poem by Namita Rani Panda

My Lost Innocence

Rating: 5.0

I lost my innocence
When I asked my mom
" Do really fairies exit?
Why doesn't Lord Jagannath have feet? "

I lost my innocence
When I stopped depending on my mom
And I make up myself in front of the mirror
To hide the marks on my face with a mask of face powder.

I lost my innocence
When I could cheat my mom
By hiding the secrets of mine
With a beauty queen grin.

I lost my innocence
When I never hesitated to argue with my mom
And raised voice to fight for my right
Not being subdued by anyone with fright.

I lost my innocence
When I crossed adolescence
And became a mature adult
But with a longing to relive that innocent past.
