My Love Poem by Daniel Navarrete

My Love

I lay in this meadow and gaze and glance at the stars above
i notice in disbelief my star has fallen out of the blue sky
this cold air the brings memories vidily
and your smile in pictures is all i have left
burning and yearning for you
calling out your name in the meadow
these gathered memories i embrace you
and as the wind blows my hair
i collapse on my back
i fall asleep so peacefully longing for you
the fading sky makes me reach out for you
as i remember you ask me to come to bed
these memories come rushing down at once
drowing me till i grab my chest
in this meadow my flowers grew for you
as i gaze at the sky i know we are far away
yet i wonder if you think of me
of the time we had
how it didn't happen over night but then we grew
we attracted each other and our love grew
i couldn't hear your voice as you said those words
that keep me up at nights running far away
those words burn my body
i want to embrace you if only for a little while
overwhelmed with muttering words
even so i mutter these words
even so i mutter these words
even so i mutter these words
i want to sleep holding you...
