My Magnolia Tree Poem by Jake Knight

My Magnolia Tree

Rating: 5.0

Oh what a magnificent and beautiful sight to see,
That here in England, my beloved magnolia tree,
Vulnerable petals, let them be,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

Plentiful pale pink petals so generously abound,
Before slow decent, lifting, drifting to the ground,
Delicate petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

Those pale pink petals, pristine for a day,
Dreaded winds, if only, you stay away,
Precious petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

If I stray for a day, the sight may often be lost,
Oh please don’t let the flower be taken by frost,
Fragile petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

All at once it’s over and I shed a tear,
For I shall have to wait yet another year,
Graceful petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

Your petals have passed, turned to summer green,
Now leaves are present where the flower had been,
Exquisite petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.

Will you go on flowering in the years to come,
Carry on flowers, to my day is done,
Elegant petals on my magnolia tree,
Please don’t go away, but wait for me.
