My Mom (How I Miss Her) Poem by Jan E Smith

My Mom (How I Miss Her)

When I was but a baby you held me in your arms.
Told me all those stories, and kept me from life’s harms.

Now I am all grown up, yet I still need you so.
Don't you know I love you? Oh please don't ever go.

You will be my mother forever and a day.
All those years of laugher, and children hard at play.

You're the one who kept me from all those sad times past.
Memories of all you've done are bound to last and last.

When ever you are down and out, and need someone to care,
take a look around you, and you will see me there.

Thank you for having me, and keeping me from harm,
sharing all those good times, and all your endless charm.

How can I repay you? And what is left to say?
All I know is you're the one who brightens up my day.
