My Morning Refused To Start Poem by Diipo Fagbolu

My Morning Refused To Start

This morning everything stopped
All things
My world paused not for a minute
But forever
The traffic light somewhere inside my eyes turned red
As the shadows of your absence overwhelms me
And your silent voice deafens me
Writhing in my marrows are the leftover wisps
Of the moments we never had
The ghost of the love we snuffed
Has finally caught up with me
Dealing me ghastly blows
With the fervor of a nemesis
Killing my morning, suffocating my afternoon
And murdering my nights
And here I lay victimized
With a morning that refused to start without you
