My Nanna X Poem by Siana Maurissa Mee

My Nanna X

To our heavenly son, our father, our lord,
Here's another one for all the tears i have stored.
For every tear, that has run down my face,
For every tear i did shed at that memorable place.
On the fourth of December 2009,
My nan was taken from my family and i.
And although i did curse for what had been done,
I made a promise to look after my mum.
To stand by her side, in her hour of need,
To help her adjust to the life she must lead.
My nanna was dearest to many a heart,
And i know she's still with us, although we're apart.
My mum and her brother went through this together,
Knowing their mum will be with them forever.
My cousin and i looked out for eachother,
I look to him now as if he's my brother.
My dad and my uncles friend was there too,
Helping my mum and my uncle get through.
And we were all there to say goodbye to my nan,
A role model to me since my life began.
And so to you nan, i bid you farewell,
Although not forever, as i'm sure time will tell.
