My Olympics Poem by Michael Shepherd

My Olympics

Rating: 1.5

There was huge pressure –
we was under a lot of pressure…

But I remembered the instructions -
keep cool, do just what you’ve been trained to do…so,

to get through, do so well
was just amazing…just amazing...

I feel – just – fantastic..
the whole experience has been – fantastic..

and yes, I guess my sights are now
on London two hundred twelve..

the stadium, the village, the facilities, were just fantastic..
but now it’s over, I just want

to get home again – I’m really proud
I volunteered to be a lavatory attendant..

...amazing… just fantastic..

Great twist of events. The poem really captures one's attention and the desire to know more, and then comes the sudden change of events. Great technique!
