Because I love you with every corner of my heart
I promise to let you go
Because I love you with my soul
I promise to accept that "we" will not be
Because I love you
I will have compassion for you
I will not feel angry or bitter
Nor will I judge you
Because there is no place for that here
Because I see in your eyes
The love you have for your kin;
Because I see your pain, your suffering
And your fears
I promise to walk away softly
Because I love your faults, your wound
Your pride and your distance
Just as much as I love your kindness
Your spirit and your gentleness
Because I love every inch of you entirely
Because this is love
I will do what is right
I will walk away
I will deeply respect you
And deeply accept you
Because I love you,
It won't matter if you love me too
I will ask nothing from you
I promise to take this love with me
And as I turn to leave,
I will thank you sincerely for this gift
