I don't know how it all began
But I sure know how it ended
We both started each with a plan
But it turned out like no one intended.

The elements of beauty gathered in her all
She had a handsome figure but a fairer soul
Her chestnut hair, her eyes hazel with a tinge of green,
Her smile the most of heaven anyone has seen.

The sight of her is like heaven on earth
The stars must have shined for her birth.

Alas, her heart belongs to another man
Whom I hope will give her all he can.
