My Reply Poem by Erwick Brandon

My Reply

This silence is deafening.
This life seems more like a sentencing.
I can't fathom this heart wrenching scenario.
'My days feel so long
and my nights contain no sleep at all.'
Something I've written you once before.
Like Secondhand Serenade it's a song already.
I'll sing it for you when you're ready.
I promise I'm doing my best to trudge along.
Reading into all your poems
and writing you a book of songs.
As I write these next heartfelt words
remember, 'if you're a bird, I'm a bird.'
For you...I'll be ok
We...will be ok.
Like two cards leaning against each other,
you can't have one without the other.
Take one away and they'll fall together.
They need each other for support.
Let me be your support.
Let me be your other card.
You're Ace of spades.
Your always on my mind.
You truly are one of a kind.
If I'm your love, your life, your spirit.
Know that your my muse, my soul, the inspiration to my never ending lyrics.
Your the light that will guide me home.
Home into your arms.
Where I know I belong.
Breathe in...breathe out.
Something I used to be able to do so effortlessly.
Now it's something I have to force myself to continue doing.
Breathe in...breathe out.
But for you...I will
For you...I will.
