My Responsibility! (12 / 10 / 2011 / 05: 17) . Poem by Koena Mokoena

I accept my responsibility with both hands, /
because everyday i get up with an aim, objective & vision. /
I enjoy sleeping in Mr. Thapelo Ndaba's double bed, /
for seven hours in the night. /
I am here to protect your bedroom & it is inspiring, /
because on the other hand i get a chance to compose
my poems while i am resting in peace. /

It is hard, because sometimes i sleep with an empty stomach. /
Hence, this affects my vocabulary negatively & so my self esteem... /
But i don't give up without a fight, because i was not born to be a loser. /
The fact is i am here to stay for decades, so i am fighting for my research. /

I am conscious about my current situation, because i have been a poet
for twenty four years. /
I use your permission & time to compose my poems,
because i love them. /
My aim is to reach my aim, objective & vision. /

I am excited, because i am going to have my own big house,
beautiful wife, kids & expensive cars in the suburb. /
